Throughout year, the City of Delaware Planning and Community Development Department will be performing an update to its Planning and Zoning Code. It hasn't seen any major revisions in more than 20 years.

The first phase of the update is underway and will be introduced by the City Council at its February 26 meeting. Updates include:

• A more effective and efficient review process
• Individual zoning and development plan procedures
• Increased number of public hearings for each development
• Additionally, proposed is a new Planned Unit Development (PUD) zoning district that will replace the use of the five overlay districts

These proposed changes will create a simpler, consistent, more transparent process that will allow for an easier to understand development process. Residents and interested stakeholders may review this proposal and provide Planning and Community Development staff with feedback at planning@delawareohio.net or 740-203-1600.
