The City of Delaware issues combined building and zoning permits (formally known as Certificates of Building and Zoning Compliance) for projects in the City. This means that, in most circumstances, only one permit will be required for any given project, even if there are both building and zoning components of the application. 

All residential building and zoning permit applications (other than new homes) are now available for submittal on the City of Delaware's online permit portal!

Creating an account using the permit portal (button to the right or below on mobile) is the fastest and easiest way to get a permit approved. At this time, new homes and commercial applications must be printed out and returned to the Planning and Community Development Department with all required supplemental information to apply.
